Japanese Satsuma Style Vase Earthenware Yellow Bird Floral Hand Painted 33cm

£54.95
Tall yellow-glazed vase with a flared rim and a hand-painted design of a blue and white bird perched on a flowering branch, with blossoms in white, yellow and red. The lower body shades from yellow to green, with daisy-like flowers and grasses around the base. The neck has a decorative band of small raised white dots and medallion motifs beneath the cream rim. The base is unglazed with a finely crazed cream finish and has an inscribed or painted mark, which I have not been able to read. Photographed next to a ruler and measures approximately 30 cm tall. The style is similar to Japanese Satsuma ware, but I have not been able to confirm the maker or date.
