Set of two antique silk handkerchiefs with lace trim, embroidered as French WWI souvenirs.
One handkerchief features a gold thread Souvenir de France inscription with a floral spray in red, blue, cream and gold. The other is embroidered with the dates 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917 and 1918 encircling a decorative square motif, alongside the words Souvenir de France.
Both pieces have a scalloped lace border and are made from a fine, sheer silk type fabric.
A charming piece of textile history, likely created as a wartime keepsake.
Condition: Good
Condition Details: Antique handkerchiefs showing age appropriate yellowing and light staining near embroidery, especially on the floral and gold thread motif. Lace edging intact on both pieces, no holes or tears noted. Sold as vintage textiles, not new condition.
