£25.00
Japanese Satsuma-style porcelain vase featuring hand-painted decoration of chrysanthemums and a bird against a red ground, with gilt detailing to the rim and shoulder. The vase sits on a carved wooden stand, which is screwed onto the base of the vase, forming a permanently attached unit. Approximate height including stand is 20cm. The rim shows wear and chipping with loss of gilt, and the glaze has fine crackling in places, as shown in the photographs. No maker's mark is visible other than a character mark on the base of the stand.
Condition: Fair
Condition Details: Antique vase with visible age wear including a chipped and worn rim with loss of glaze and gilt, hairline crackling to the glaze, and surface wear consistent with age. The wooden stand is screwed onto the base of the vase, so the vase and stand function as a single fixed unit rather than being separable.
